How can I prepare for my session?
Can we really ever be prepared when we have kids?!
Here are some tips that have helped previous sessions run a little smoother:
For babies: Have bottles, pacifiers, and comfort items on hand(ex. a favorite toy, blanket etc.).
It's better not to give items to them unless it is necessary because they are not going to be happy campers when we try and take them away to get the shot! Also having an alternate outfit on hand is a good idea because accidents do happen!
For toddlers/children: Have non-staining snacks on hand (ex. goldfish, pretzels etc.)
Also I think it is important to let your little ones know what they will be doing and what will be expected of them. Some parents offer a reward for good behavior and I am all for that : )
